School Hours
School Hours: 8:05 am - 3:05 pm
School Office: 7:30 am - 3:45 pm
During school office hours, parents and visitors can get assistance from office staff either by telephone or in person.
Student Arrival: 7:55 am-8:35am
Students cannot arrive at school before 7:55 am, as there is no adult supervision for your child prior to that time. Your child arriving at school prior to 7:55 am jeopardizes their safety without adult supervision.
Tardiness: AFTER 8:35am
School starts at 8:35am Any student who arrives after 8:35am is considered tardy and must report immediately to the office and receive a tardy pass. Tardy students will not be accepted into class without a pass from the office.
Student Dismissal: 3:05 P.M
Parents will not be allowed to enter the building during dismissal and should wait outside at their child's designated dismissal area to meet their child. This school policy is necessary to maximize the safety of all our students. If there is a need to speak to the principal or assistant principal, please call the main office to schedule an appointment at a later date as the principal's focus at this time is a safe and orderly dismissal.
Early Dismissal: Students WILL NOT be released early from school without the office receiving communication and consent from a parent IN ADVANCE. Also, STUDENTS WILL NOT BE DISMISSED EARLY from school after 1:30pm. After 1:30pm, PARENTS MUST WAIT OUTSIDE until students are dismissed.
Student Code of Conduct
Please read the District's Code of Conduct
https://www.clevelandmetroschools.org/students/student-code-of-conduct from the District webpage.
Attendance
The law requires school-age children to attend school regularly. At Wade Park School we expect ALL students to be in school every day and on time. Research proves that regular and punctual attendance in school is directly related to your child's success. Please help your child be successful by making sure they are in school every day and on time unless they are sick, there is a family illness or a death in the family.
Please do not send your child to school if they are sick, as germs easily spread and can cause others to get sick!
In the event that your child will be absent, please call (216) 838-1750 and have your child bring a note when he/she returns to school. Please include your name, your child's name, and their room number, date of the absence and the reason for the absence.
Attendance includes absences, tardies, and early dismissals.

PBIS Behavior Matrix
Dear Parents/Guardians:
We look forward to partnering with you and your child to create a safe and respectful learning environment for all students. To establish a quality school climate, all staff members at Wade Park School use the Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) Plan. The focus of this plan is to build a school culture that fosters our core values of being safe, organized, accountable, and respectful (S.O.A.R.).
Your child will be learning about PBIS during the first days and weeks of school. All of the staff members will be teaching and reinforcing the positive behaviors Wade Park students are expected to demonstrate at school. PBIS Flyer Code posters are displayed throughout the building and in the classrooms. We have structured building movements and voice levels to make it easier for students to travel safely and efficiently around our school campus. Finally, we acknowledge and reward students and classes who consistently demonstrate these positive behaviors.
Please take some time to review with your child the positive behavior expectations described on the attached Wade Park Flyer Code Matrix (below). Ask your child to make sure he/she understands the expectations in different locations around the school campus or on the bus. Please discuss the importance of these concepts and encourage your child to follow the Flyer Code.
With your continued support and involvement, there is no question that Wade Park School will continue to be a place where students can excel in a safe and respectful environment. Research shows that when families and schools work together, student learning is more successful. We look forward to working with you as true partners in your child’s education.
Positively Yours, Wade Park Administration Team

Cell Phone and Electronic Device Policy
We will be making our school a phone-free space to improve teaching and learning using a system called Yondr. Yondr has been implemented in over 1,000 schools across 21 countries to facilitate an engaged learning environment. We believe that phones have great utility. We have also found that learning and social behavior improve drastically when students are fully engaged with their teachers and classmates.
The Yondr Program utilizes a simple, secure pouch that stores a phone. Every student will secure their phone in a personally assigned Yondr pouch when they arrive at school. Students will maintain possession of their phones and will not use them until their pouches are opened at the end of the school day. Students are required to obtain their Yondr pouch each day at arrival and are responsible for their pouch at all times.
Yondr recently surveyed over 900 school partners to measure the effects of creating phone-free educational environments. These schools achieved notable progress in multiple areas:
- 65% of schools saw an improvement in academic performance
- 74% of schools saw an improvement in student behavior
- 83% of schools saw an improvement in student engagement in the classroom
Phones are not to be used during school. Every student is assigned a personal Yondr Pouch. While the Yondr Pouch is considered school property, it is each student’s responsibility to obtain their Pouch at entry every day and keep it in good working condition.
If there is an emergency and you would like to get in contact with your child, please reach out to the main office at 216-838-1750.
In an effort to best serve your child, we appreciate your full support in the adoption of the Yondr Program at our school.
DAILY PROCESS
As students Arrive to School, they will:
- Turn their phone off.
- Open their Yondr Pouch by tapping against the Unlocking Base.
- Place their phone inside the Pouch and secure it in front of the school staff.
- Store it in their backpack for the day.
At the end of the day, students will open their Pouch, remove their phone, close their Pouch, and place it in their grade-level bin.
*Students arriving late or leaving early will pouch/unpouch their phones in the main office.
VIOLATIONS
What if the Yondr pouch gets damaged or a student is caught on their phone?

1st Offense - Pouch Phone & Message Home.
